Sometimes, my friend, sometimes we cry.
We feel discouraged and don’t know why.
In search of answers but finding none.
Like all the progress has come undone.
The path we pave is blurred ahead,
And we want to crawl in bed instead.
The weight of the world bearing down,
That optimism no where to be found.
It makes us real, and it’s not a fault.
Just take these moments with a grain of salt.
A big deep breath, a tear may fall.
For we are human, after all.
So cry it out, if the need arise,
Say a prayer, look to the skies.
Shut the window, open a door.
Remind yourself what you’re fighting for.
When the wave has passed and tears have dried,
Your arms and heart will be open wide.
For even tearstained eyes have a beautiful glisten,
And they’ll tell us stories if we only listen.
Befriending our struggles will help us grow,
And be the true self we’re coming to know.
