I chose it, or I should say, it chose ME as my “word” for this year.
I’m not a New Year’s Resolutions kind of girl and haven’t been for years.
I see the fizzle and fade of that. The hype and drive that quickly die often just weeks into the year.
The Word of the Year though, that concept resonates with me. I feel it’s something that you can remind yourself of consistently throughout the year. Even if you momentarily forget, or step away.
Not, “Oops, well there goes my New Year’s Resolution, maybe try again next year.”
A “word” though… it’s consistent, yet forgiving. A “word” allows you to be perfectly imperfect.
It gives you grace and empowers you to try again, without the ridiculous need to wait until the following year.
Every day, heck… every moment, is a new chance to be true to yourself, to your “word,” and to the story you are writing and the impact you want to make in the world.
When we allow our mind, or our heart, or fate, or God, or whatever you believe it is that places the right word (or phrase) on your heart, trust in it.
Let it inspire you, and re-inspire you when needed.
Allow it to help you grow each time you are reminded.
If ONE WORD can help you become stronger, reach farther, achieve greater, give more, and live an exceptional life…. Why not embrace it?
